The Coaching Process
The business coaching process begins with an initial meeting for you and I to get to know each other. During that meeting I'll ask you to share your goals, frustrations and concerns. From that discussion, we'll develop a work plan to guide our work together. From there, we'll meet weekly, in person, or face to face via Skype, over a period of several months, or perhaps longer.
Coaching vs. Consulting
Coaching and consulting share some similarities, but there are substantial differences. In a coaching arrangement, the focus is on personal and professional development. The focus is on expanding personal capabilities, addressing self-limiting constraints and exploring future posibilities. In a consulting engagement, the work is often functionally focused. In a consulting engagement, the consultant takes responsibility for completing agreed-upon tasks or projects. In most consulting engagements, there are tangible deliverables. In a coaching arrangement, the coach helps the client identify and frame the work to be done, but the responsibility for doing the work remains with the client.
